“We’ll frustrate you to commit suicide”- Yentua Demonstrator to Mr. Akuffo Addo
On Thursday, February 10, the Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), aged citizens, head porters also known as “Kayayie”, Coalition of Concerned University Students (CoCUS) thronged the streets of Accra.
They protested the passage of the Electronic Transaction Levy (e-Levy) and the ongoing strike action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) that has lasted for about a month.
Clad in red and black, they converged at the ‘Obra Spot’ and marched through the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, Farisco, Striking Force, the Kinbu Road, the Octagon, the National Theatre through the AU Roundabout.
However, the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Joshua Akamba in an interview with Accra based Angel FM/TV midday news, said, they would not stage coup to dethrone the President, and would also not do anything to disturbing the peace of the people but, they will frustrate the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo since he is not perturbed about the grievances of the people.
According to Akamba, the President is not a listening President, hence, will also not relent on their efforts to frustrating him.
“We will not stage coup to create chaos in the country in order to get rid of the NPP government from power, but the President is the head of the government, we will frustrate him to commit suicide so that they will move out from power”, Akamba, a member of the Yentua Demonstrators and member of the NDC said on the Angel’s Midday news monitored by filasconews.
