Oh! Female University student dies in a Septic-Tank
Heritage Ajibola, a 100-level female student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun state, has reportedly died in a tragic incident that happened on Wednesday afternoon, February 9, 2022, at Beaver Hostel, Maintenance Hostels.
According to an Instablog9ja report, Heritage accidentally lost her precious life after she fell into a septic tank at one of the school’s hostels.
The deceased is a student from the Department of Linguistics and African Languages.
The students’ union president, Ogunperi Taofeek Olalekan, who confirmed her death in a statement said, “This incident is highly unfortunate. The Union mourns her. May her soul rest in peace. May God give her family, friends and course mates the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
It must be noted that Heritage’s d#ath was avoidable if the soakaway system was properly constructed and covered. It is saddening that this has happened despite the huge amounts of money paid by students for rent.
The Management of the Hostel must answer for the d#ath of Heritage. The Union is immediately demanding justice for Heritage, with a view to forestalling a possible reoccurrence of this.”
