Run 4ur Lyf: Police officers ran helter-skelter as youths besieged police station over colleague’s death
It was a busy day at Yamfo, in the Tano North District of the Ahafo Region today, February 26, 2022.
The youths in the aforementioned community besieged the Divisional Police Command, in protest for justice for the unfortunate demise of their colleague.
Wearing red and black attires with red arm band, hundreds of youths at Yamfo stormed the police, demanding the whereabouts of a KIA Truck which knocked down one their colleague, Christian Tweneboah Kodua to death, on the Yamfo-Susuanso road.
The sadden incident occurred on the Val’s day Eve, February 14, 2022, at about 7:pm.
According to the youths, the vehicle, with registration number GN-8109-Y, that knocked their brother to death cannot be found today at the police, to help investigation.
And, when they pushed for explanation from the Divisional Police Command, the police say, the truck has been towed at their blind side.
This, according to the disheartened-angry youths, triggered their action, to demand the whereabouts of the said killer-truck with no lights but plying on the roads always.
Chanting war songs and beating their chest and legs on the floor, the police officers at the command, at the time of the incident, run for their lives.
A resident and a local reporter in the area, K DEE giving a situational report on a Kumasi based Silver FM’s morning show dubbed Omanbapa chaired by Nana Ampratwum confirmed the chaotic scene, adding that, It took the intervention of the Chief in the Community to calm nerves of the youths.
