KMA gets new Presiding Member
The Assembly Member of Krofrom East Electoral Area, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong has been elected as the new Presiding Member for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA).
The election took place at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Thursday, 10, February, 2022.
He won the election in the second round on Yes or No voting, after the incumbent PM, Hon. Stephen Ofori threw his support for him after the first round.

In the first round, Hon. Stephen Ofori got 16 votes whiles Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong amassed 40 votes but couldn’t get him the two- thirds thresholds, i.e 44 out of 57 votes of which one was rejected ballot.
In the second round, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong won with 53 Yes votes as against 3 No.
The election was supervised by the Ashanti Regional Deputy Director of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Diana Osei Assibey, and declared the Krofrom East Assembly Member as the new PM for KMA.
Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong was immediately sworned in as the new Presiding Member of the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive(KMA) by His Lordship Justice Kofi Akowuah, the Supervising High Court Judge.

Finally, Hon. Patrick Kwame Frimpong spoke to the Media concerning sanitation, trading, transport and security as his major priorities to enhance in the Kumasi Metropolis.
In addition, The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Samuel Pyne called all the KMA Assembly Members to cooperate with the new Presiding Member for the betterment of Kumasi Metropolis.
