“Without Wontumi and Bawumia, we can’t break the ‘8’” – DCE
The former DCE for Sekyere Central Hon. Banahene Bediako has stated that it will be difficult for the NPP to break the 8 without the current Ashanti regional Chairman of the party retaining his seat and Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia as the party presidential Candidate.
Speaking on Asanteman Dawuro on Asanteman FM 107.3 with the host Sir Mike, he said the current Ashanti regional chairman of the NPP has a unique way of doing politics which has become a burden to the opposition NDC.
He noted that the role the chairman played in making sure the party won both 2016 and 2020 elections can not be compared to any other chairman in the country.
” If people say Wontumi has not performed well, then they are been ungreatful, he sacrifice for this party ended up losing his properties but did not give up”.
On the part of the Vice President, Hon. Banahene stressed that the digitizational drive led by the vice president will make this country a better off in the coming years. He said under this fourth republic, the only vice president the NDC fears is Bawumia. He therefore called on the party members not to fall for any propaganda from some few others whose attitude can cause the party defeat if care is not taken.
Even though he was confident NPP will break the 8, he emphasised making it more easier and rest assured is for the party to maintain Wontumi and Bawumia.
