A man believed to be in his late 70s has collapsed to death at Asamura lorry station at Racecourse, in the Bantama Sub-Metro of the Ashanti Region.

The incident happened today, Thursday, December 30,2021.

Eye witness, Joe, narrating the unfortunate incident to Filasco DeGeneral said, the man, yet to be identified came to the terminal around 2pm as a traveller to board a vehicle at Asamura station.

Mr. Joe added that, the man sat under a reserved table mostly used as ladder by the station’s loading boys to climb and park goods on top of the vehicles with ease.

He elaborated that, hours later, the man collapsed and fell under the table which many taught, he was asleep but otherwise…… he was dead.

“We approached the table to wake him up, but we found out that, he was dead”, the eye witness opined.

As the time of filing this report, the body was still there.

However, Bantama Sub-Metro Administrator, Mr. Oliver responding to this in an interview with Filasco, has said, “is very bad, I’m sending some people to go there now and do the needful”.

Meanwhile, the assembly member of Bantama Electoral area which includes Racecource, Hon. Kwabena Boateng a.k.a Trouble, reacting to the issue, told me that, “My brother, I will never step foot to the area to help convey the body because KMA collects revenue from Racecourse thereore if someone has been found dead there, pls, call KMA or the SubMetro head to go and carry the body”.
