Nyinawusu: Five gruesomely murdered, one beheaded
Five persons have been murdered cruelly at Nyinawusu in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region.
The gruesome incident happened at the Chief palace in the community.
Six men suspected to be galamseyers from Akorabokrom in the same community were manhandled by the residents of Nyinawusu on Thursday, December 16, 2021 to the Chief’s palace over robbery incident which happened on Wednesday in between Kwanfifi and Nyinawusu.
When they arrived at the palace, the situation turned into a mob action leading to the instant killing of four of the suspected robbers.
One was able to ran for his life whiles the other one was saved by the police and sent to the hospital but died today.
The residents of Akorabokrom where the deceaseds hail from, have accused the Chief of Nyinawusu for indulging the youths to carry out such heinous act.
However, Nana Adu Tutu (I), Chief of Nyinawusu responding to the issue today on a Kumasi based Silver FM’s morning show hosted by Nana Ampratwum said, he was at the palace including the police to save the situation but the blazing mob attackers over powered them and meted out the bad action.
Nana Tutu opined that,”I have to rush inside my room for cover because all the youths from the nearby communities Intruded my palace.
They break my palace building, some passed through the ceiling of the structure and got to where the suspects were kept. By the time I came out, their lifeless bodies were scattered in the middle of the palace”.
The Chief alleged that, two locals from his community identified two of the suspects as robbers which motivated the roaring crowd to lunch them gruesomely.
Meanwhile, a former Unit Committee Chairman and former Chief Linguist of Akorabokrom, Nana Kwabena Nyame on the same platform refuted the chief’s claims and accused him of masterminding the activities by the youths.
The bodies have been kept at Nkawie Hospital Morgue whiles investigation commenced by the police.
