Sad scene as Sprinter bus crashes with Lowbird truck, scores injured
A Sprinter bus with registration number AW 5321-14 on Thursday, December 16, 2021 ran into a Lowbird truck also with registration number GS 5533-19 at Denkyemuoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The speeding Sprinter bus carrying passengers, off Abuakwa road used wrong lane resulting into the near fatal accident.
Giving details to Filasco DeGeneral after incident, the assembly member of Atwima-Takyiman-Denkyemuoso electoral area where the incident happened, Hon. David Asare said, the road is under construction and due to that, there have been some blocks and humps on the road which drivers must slow down when they get to such points for smooth passage.
Hon. David added that, the Sprinter bus using the wrong lane was also on top speed, thus, resulting into a head-on-collision with the Lowbird truck also carry Caterpillar.
The over 20 passengers in the sprinter bus are severely injured including one fearing dead.
“My brother, it is serious how people have been injured. Some passengers legs have break with heads severely hurt”, the assembly member revealed.
The injured passengers were initially rushed to the SDA Hospital at Kwadaso but due to the extent of the injury, some have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) whiles the police in the area commenced investigation into the accident.
