MTTD should maintain discipline on the road to reduce accident- Hon Andrews

The assembly member for Sasa-Bomso electoral area in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, Hon Andrews Owusu has stated that, the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service should maintain discipline on the road to curb carnages on our roads.

According to Hon. Owusu, Education to drivers on road usage and signs will prevent some unnecessary accidents.

He said MTTD must not hesitate to arrest road offenders both drivers, riders and other road users (commuters) and prosecute them to deter others.

The MTTD branch of the Police Service is a body is a body mandated to regulate, control and enforce discipline on the roads thereby anything contrary act on the road either by transport Operators or commuters is prohibited and should be nabbed from the bud to reduce road carnages.

The Sasa-Bomso assembly member was speaking to the press on how road accidents can be prevented in the country and the role of the MTTD on Monday, November 8, 2021.

He finally entreated the MTTD to also monitor motor riders as most of the crimes nowadays are been carried out through motor bikes.
