Combine worship with work – Rev Obotuo to colleague Pastors

Success they say is not achieved on a silver platter, but rather through dedication to hard work, humility and fear of God.

This is a brief words from Rev Isaac Opoku popularly known as Rev Obotuo founder and leader of the In Him Is Life Church International having it’s headquarters in Kumasi Ashanti Region, with over 15 branches across Ghana and abroad.

Through the impact which Rev Obotuo have made in the society apparently in the transformation of human lives, the man of God has slated April 8th-9th 2023 to celebrate the 33rd founders day of his church.

The two days impressive program would be witnessed among other activities, friendly football matches that would attract Special Obotuo’s Cup for goal winners, floating and finally the climax of the main program at the Ofankor branch of the church premises on April 9th, 2023.

Speaking to the Correspondent in an exclusive interview, Rev Obotuo who is currently an International Preacher underscored that the function which is themed ‘Grateful Heart To Our Founding Father’s Legacy’ quoted from the book of Psalm 145-4 would be a unique one because high profile personalities from both local and at the international scene would be present to grace the occasion.

The clergy regretted that many pastors believe that wasting all their time in church activities are the solutions of ones problems unknowing to those pastors that physical work should go along with worship to enhance the work of the ministry.

He said as men of God we need to combine worship with work to help us to avoid the dependence on the congregation, stressing that the pastors who allegedly don’t think outside the box ended up in misery when they retire from the noble profession of the priesthood.

The man of God also denounced the long periods of conducting church activities notably the programs like revivals and crusades aurging that long service and prayers are not the key to salvation but rather obedience, humility and true acceptance of the word and simple prayers.

Pastors need to focus more attention on the welfare and salvation of the church members and also encourage them to work hard for their survival, Rev Isaac Opoku hinted.

He advised the incoming pastors to avoid greed, rush in life and instead humble themselves by a way of approaching the experienced and elderly pastors who have made impact in the society for advise to enable them build their carriers and become a successful pastors in the future.

Commenting about his religious carrier and challenges, Obotuo intimated that he started his Ministry in 1990 from a ‘small base’ in Kumasi and thank, God who turns impossibility into possibility, the church have grown from strength to strength specializing in healing, deliverance, miracles, soul winning among others.

The clergy recalled that in his 33 years experience in the priesthood carrier, he was confronted with various challenges that saw almost the closure of the Kumasi church, yet he stood firm and resolute for knowing very well that to become a great man or archiever is not like a breakfast party.

Rev Isaac Opoku reiterated that as a focused man of God he touched down to the Christian Service University College in Kumasi where he pursued a course in Theology.

His reason was that his basic school level certificate cannot help him to get the full understanding and interpretation of spiritual meaning as he sees the call of God as a great task.

Obotuo said he after his course in Theology went to Accra after the private financial loan banking firm he established got collapsed resorting to pressure on him from external sources.

He said in Accra he worked hard to revive issues and establish branch churches.

He stressed that still believing in education as a key to civilization that could help him to expand his church, he furthered his education at the Pentecost University College, GIMPA, Zenith College in the United Kingdom, among other leading institutions to Combine Worship With Work -Rev Obotuo Tells Pastors As He Celebrates Founders Day.

According to the reverend minister the epistle of Saint Paul that exhorted pastors to work influenced his life and having no alternative, he established Opfa Group of Companies which operates clinics, electrical products, marts, banking and cars.

Rev Isaac Opoku disclosed that based on his hard work coupled with his dedication to church activities, he has been able to receive three international distinguished awards to his credit.

Expressing his gratitude for where God has made him to reach so far in life despite the several challenges in the 33 years in religious journey, Obotuo said it is in this regard hence he finds it prudent to organize the program to give honor to whom honor is due.

The clergy noted that his incredible story would go a long way to transform the society, especially on the pastors who hardly stands the storm of difficulties to do the right thing to glorify God when they encounter trouble.
