Show little bit of attention to swimming sporting activities – Ghana Rowing and Canoe Association President to Gov’t

The Ghana Rowing and Canoe Association has organised a national seminar and national indoor rowing championship for life savers in Accra.

Speaking with the media, a board member and medical practitioner, Dr.Theophilous Armah said some people taught because they’re good swimmer so they can easily save life which they got it all wrong.

He narrated the been a very good swimmer that’s not means they can save life.

The life saving is a different expertise all together so he advise to take note of it.

According to him, there are three main things need to know one checking the lung, the cardio and 30 chest pump.

He advised that if they do the checking on the lung, cardio and 30 chest pump and the person doesn’t response means that he/she cannot survive.

Meanwhile the president of Ghana Rowing and Canoe Association Mr Kevin Adarkwah appealed to the government of Ghana to pay a little bit of attention to the swimming sporting activities in Ghana.

According to him, swimming is a less know sporting activities in Ghana but last year the association went to Tunisia and win trophy which shows that if the government pay some attention they can go further than that.

He ask how much do the government spends on our national team and how trophies have they won for the nation zero that was in 1982.

He was optimistic that when given the necessary attention and support to the swimming sporting they can go to Olympics and bring in more trophies and make the nation proud.

The seminar would not end just in Accra but rather extend it to all the sixteen region’s in Ghana.
