Eii As3m: Koko Sellers Threaten Demo, Vow To Withdraw Their Service Over High Cost Of Production
The Hausa Koko sellers association in the Eastern Region of Ghana have threatened to put down their tools and materials over high prices of production.
According to them, prices of Millet, Sugar, Milk, beans, oil and other other essential commodities have astronomically increased.
Speaking with Radio 1 news reporter, Akua Acheampomaa Owoahene, the traders also lamented over poor sales due to the hardships in Ghana where the citizens hardly make three square meals daily.
They also added that the current situation coupled with others have raised the standard and increased the cost of living in the area.
Moreover, they revealed that, they used to sell out Koko at GHC 1 to people and it was sufficient for them but now, they need to buy at GHC 2 before they are satisfied and that is killing their business.
The ‘hausa Koko sellers’ then appealed to the government to as a matter of urgency sterilize the economic challenges or they go on strike next week.
