Asanteman Association in Europe graces Asantehemaa’s 5th Anniversary
The Asanteman Association in Europe, a Non Governmental Organization in the European countries comprises with Ashante’s, who represents10 countries with 13 Associations in Europe, honoured the ASANTEHEMAA, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom lll, 5th anniversary today.
The Asanteman Europe Association, who under one umbrella have come together with a common vission to help develop Asanteman and to ensure that the entire Asante kingdom is well endowed with infrastructural development and progress.
The Asanteman Europe Association members in attendance will tomorrow welcome and honour the ASANTEHEMAA, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom lll, in grand ceremony of her 5th anniversary at the Manhyia Palace.
The leadership of the Association invited each and everyone to join with them to celebrate the ASANTEHENE and the ASANTEMAA and to also commemorate the fifth anniversary of the passing of the immediate past Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem ll.
The occasion which falls on Awukudae, an important festival on the Asante traditional calendar is celebrated on Wednesdays which appears nine times in a year in 24-days intervals of observation.
An important part of the traditional festival is the Awukudae ‘som’ (inchantations), which involves the invocation of the spirits of the ancestors and the provision of sacrifices to the shrines for the blessings of Asanteman.
A delegation from Asanteman Europe Associations, which is made up of Chiefs and Queenmothers in Europe and also Asanteman Europe in the Manhyia Palace and well-wishers will be present at the brief ceremony to honour the Queen mother of the Asante Kingdom.
Among the leaders of the Association who will be present at the ceremony tomorrow to represent Asanteman Europe Association are, Nana Ama Serwaa Nyarko Kesewaa ll, Asantefuo Hemaa in Holland, Otumfuo Danponano Hemaa, Nana Afia Achiaa Deiwaa l, Asantefuo Hemaa in Sweden amongst other dignitaries to grace the occasion.
The occasion which will attract people from all walks of life to celebrate the Asantehemaa will witness the rich culture of the Asante Kingdom at the Manhyia Palace.
