The family of Mr. Edward Kwarteng, 57, reported missing on 15th December, 2021 at Akyem Oda in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region are suspecting a foul play and have accused the police for not showing interest.
The missing man has five children and a wife.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, 11th January, 2022, the wife of the man, Mrs. Mercy Kwarteng explained that, her husband on the said date between 9am – 10am went to Akyem Oda main lorry station to meet his friend after receiving a call and never returned home till date.
She further added that, she hurriedly reported the case to Akyem Oda police the next day to aid in finding his husband’s whereabouts.
Mrs. Kwarteng added that, the friend, Mr. Johnny was arrested by the police but has also been released on strange grounds on the part of the victim’s family.
She said, is over a month now and the Akyem Police seem not to have interest in the matter anymore.
The family has therefore petioned the police Chief, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare to as a matter of urgency intervene.
