Mr. President: Words can’t build your delayed affordable housing for teachers, let’s see it- EAI’s Boadi William

“You would be seen as a problem solver by your deeds, not your words” – Samuel Opoku.

Dear H. E. President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, God bless you for the past and recent affordable housing unit project vows for the Ghanaian teachers. It’s thoughtful and we salute you for the 7th extent.

However, Mr. President, these are some of the unfulfilled pledges to the Ghanaian teachers about the same housing project:
1. We will facilitate teachers’ affordable housing – NPP, 16th October 2016.
2. President Akufo-Addo promises an affordable housing scheme for teachers, 12th February 2017 at 7:23:33 am.
3. Govt to roll out housing policy teachers – President Akufo-Addo, December 2nd, 2019, at 02:05 pm.
4. To consolidate the implementation of the Free SHS and TVET programs but increase teachers’ salaries.
5. Promised to restore teacher training allowances to reduce the hardship on teacher trainees but it’s hanging and soon to be canceled officially etc.

Surprisingly, Mr. President, EAI reckoned you would not govern the country with just words but now, you have crossed the lines of promise to lead instead of the act to lead.
The Ghanaian people as used by yourself thought you and your men were serious enough to build the country because you told us that the immediate former president was incompetent.
Also, you said the former president, H. E. John Dramani Mahama used 20 billion in the development of education but you have used 40 billion.

Unfortunately, It sounds too ludicrous because the ministry of education(M.O.E), and the Ghana Education Service is implementing the new curriculum without textbooks for two years and on. Yes, your government has improved some of the E-Block classrooms but you have at the same time abandoned most of them. Your minister of education has cut sod again to build new classrooms, why?

As an independent educational policy group EAI, Mr. President, the entire group can’t be spectators and we would want to advise you, and your men to fulfill the seasoned promises. Do not let the good people of Ghana name you super incompetent for your plentiful words without actions, and daily corruption events that are defining the super incompetent.

Likewise, the ‘seamingly-inactive’ teacher unions GNAT, NAGRAT, CCT GH, etc must not continue to mislead the Ghanaian teachers. That infraction leadership is affecting the quality of education. And, it was reported in 2018 that there is an annual 7000 resignations of teachers, according to the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).8 Oct 2021.

No political party is important than our dear country Ghana, mind you.
We are concerned citizens of Ghana. Africa is born in us.
