Breaking news: Dozens feared dead on Mankessim-Kumasi highway accident

Dozens are feared dead in head-on collision between Mankessim-Kumasi highways today.

Over 25 passengers have been rushed to the Roman Hospital at Mankessim after a Ford passenger bus with registration number GM 1600-21 and a Sprinter Bus also with registration number GE 5431-18 collided head-on at Jedu, a community on the Mankessim-Kumasi highway in the Central Region today, Monday, December 2021, at about 4:00pm.

Eye witness and a passenger in one of the vehicles, Oheneba Prince told Filasco DeGeneral that, all the passengers in both vehicles have severely injured.

He said the Ford bus was heading towards Mankessim whiles the Sprinter bus was coming to Kumasi.

The Ford driver made wrongfully overtaking at a sharp curve leading to the collision.

The injured passengers were parked in a pickup and conveyed to the hospital as calls to reach out to Ambulance service yielded no reaults.

Right now, Fire Service officers are on the road clearing the way for to avoid vehicular traffic because of the accident.

No death has been recorded so far.
