It is sad for a patient going to a health facility for a proper treatment to be treated on a joined bench.

This is the story of Akyem Apraku Community Chip Compound.

According to the people of Akyem Apraku in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region, nurses have to put two wooden benches together and lie down a patient who need urgent attention before treatment can be delivered to him/her.

They revealed that, the situation in the chip compound is a bane on their health as they lack proper health delivery in the area.

In an interview with the press to register their displeasure, the angry residents noticed the government, Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ghana Health Service (GHS) to remember them as part of the Country and come to their aid by furnishing the chip compound with medical apparatus.

They added that, the deplorable chip compound serves over Six(6) Communities in the district but lack health equipments.

The hospital lacks the following: fridge to store some special drugs, fun, beds, chairs and nurses accommodation. All these are challenges facing the Apraku Chip Compound in the Eastern Region.

The Gyaasehene of the Community, Nana Kwame Baah on his part disclosed that, the community from their own contributed to renovate the center with an amount of GH¢2,800.00 but was not enough to make the center a better place for patients and the staffs.

He noted that the Former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Hon. Ama Sey supported them with cement and others but since her removal from the seat, nothing is going on at the chip compound.

Nana also entreated the government to turn his eyes on them to give their share of the national cake.
