Minister of Information, Hon. Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah is in hot waters as residents want him to fulfill promise to them.
According to the residents of Akyem Nyamebekyere No.3 in the Akyemansa District of the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency in the Eastern Region, the Information Minister who doubles as their Member of Parliament (MP) before the 2020 general election promised the people to complete their abandoned health facility and borehole project but has failed to deliver the pledge made to them.
Expressing their grievances to the press on November 25, 2021 in the area, the residents noted that, the community through communal labour erected the foundation of the facility but work has halted due to support.
The most painful part of it according to them being that, the MP after making the sugar coated promise to them has refused to even step in the place again and they don’t hear from him too therefore they are sending him a signal to fulfill his promise made to them.
“Come back and fulfill your promise made to us over two years ago to complete our abandoned clinic”, they stressed.
They sadly disclosed that, due to the difficulties in accessing health care, they easily lose their relatives. They have to hire vehicle from their community to Akyem Oda, Akyem Gyaha etc.
On his part, Nana Kofi Arhin (III), the Chief of the Community urged the MP, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah to come and complete their abandoned clinic and borehole project as he pledged.
