Cocoa Farmers of Dwira Banso in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region have disclosed to the press that, their cocoa beans are being wasted as they are unable to transport them for sale due to their bad road networks.
Speaking on behalf of his people, the Unit Committee Chairman of the community, Mr. Gideon Emeka said the situation is discouraging a lot of cocoa farmers in the area.
He said, it is sad to see your cocoa beans rotting all because of deplorable road adding that, their road is in bad state that needs urgent attention by the government.
He revealed in an interview with the media today November 26,2021 that, trotro, taxis not even Okada can attempt patronising on their road. “It will break totally”, he added.
He is therefore on behalf of the people entreating Government to help construct the road to help them benefit from their sweats.
Chairman Emeka was quick to add that, electricity is also a major challenge to them.
He bemoaned that, any blow of air, their lights go off and the power in the community is erratic. To this one, they want electricity company of Ghana to stabilize their power for them.
The Chief of the Community, Nana Tia-Gradi (ii) on his part was worried that, he has done whatever he could as the leader of the community to get the problem solved but to no avail.
