Farmers at Kwabenateten, Kwame-Nsiakrom, a farming communities in the Tano South Constituency of the Ahafo Region are crying out to government through the Agric Ministry to drastically reduce price of Agro-Chemicals to aid their farming activities.
Leader of the worried farmers who doubles as the Chief Farmer in three communities namely: Kwabenateten, Kwame-Nsiakrom and Biokrom, Mr. Joseph Kwabena Agyemang stated that, the high price of chemicals used in farming activities has hit hard their work and is affecting their work daily.
He cited the high cost of fertiliser as the major concern slowing and affecting the farming work.
He added that, the farmers are disturbed over the cost of agricultural products. They want government to do something about it in order to make the farming activity lucrative especially to the youths.
He revealed this to a journalist, Kojo Mframa during a communal labour held at Kwabenateten community on November 25, 2021.
The assemblyman for Adomako-Krom Electoral area, Hon. Prosper Kwabena Kpantol also used the occasion to appreciate the youth in his electoral area for their involvement in farming activities and urged government, authorities in the Constituency to provide the necessary agriculture equipments to aid them on the field.
