A Chattered Accountant and Economist, Dr Sampson Anomah, has advised Ghanaians to do away with bribery and corruption to ensure development of the country.

Dr. Anomah who also doubles as a Senior Lecturer and the Head of Department of Accountancy and Accounting Information Systems at the Kumasi Technical University in an interview on Gye Nyame FM’s morning show hosted by Kwaku Mensah Abrampa on November 19,2021, stated that, corruption is the main reasons behind the retardation of the country’s development because revenues and other monies being collected for the purpose of effective developmental are not used rightfully by the government, stakeholders, state companies, contractors and the citizens at large as a result of misappropriation of funds, lack of effective supervision in state awarded contracts and poor governance.

He stressed that, Ghanaians must develop attitudinal change towards the usage of state monies because they are purposely for the country’s economic and infrastructural development and can happen as such when we offload the mindset of abnormal spending of money belonging to the country.

Reacting to the 2022 budget, Dr Sampson Anoma referred to the budget as a budget of hope.

He’s optimistic the budget gives a brighter future to the country’s economic growth adding that the budget statement ensures plans to generate internal revenues and the introduction of Youstart initiative to facilitate the establishment of avenues for entrepreneurs which may reduce the unemployment situations in the country.
