A/R: Tipper truck runs over 7 people, kills 3 on the spot and injuring 4 others
Three(3) people have been killed after a Tipper truck with registration number GR 8425-12 ran over them in their shop.
Four(4) others also sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Nyinahin Government Hospital for treatment but, they were later transfered to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for emergency treatment due to the extent of the injuries.
This sad incident happened at Akorabuokrom in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region yesterday.
Eyewitness Akwasi Manfred told Filasconews.com that, the Tipper truck was heading towards Kumasi in the Ashanti Region from Bibiani in the Western North Region.
Upon reaching a point on the road at Akorabuokrom, the driver reportedly lost control after bumping into a speed-hump on the road while on top speed.
It then ran into a shop on the roadside, killing the three apprentices and injuring four others.
The three apprentices according to the eye witness account died on the spot.
The injured victims are receiving treatment at KATH, while the remains of the three dead people have been kept in the morgue for autopsy and preservation.
Police in the region has commenced investigation into the matter.
