A Political Science Lecturer at the Kessben University College has stated that, the use of Ghana Card will be the best means of voting in the country.
According to Mr. Samuel Osei Poku, the use of Ghana card if agreed will highly accounts for free and fair elections.
The Political Science Lecturer cum political Analyst was speaking with Nana Ampratwum on Silver FM’s morning show on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 monitored by Filasconews.com.
There have been a lot of brouhaha over the use of Ghana card as sole material for election 2024 as stated by the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana.
The EC has said, they will only rely on Ghana card for 2024 adding that, if a person has no Ghana card, he will not be eligible to vote in 2024.
The decision by the EC has met a lot of backlashes Ghanaians,both politicians and technocrats.
Some elites and experts in electoral processes like the Former EC boss, Mr. Afari Gyan has disclosed that, using Ghana card for election 2024 will disenfranchise a lot of citizens.
But, in his reaction, the Political Analyst said, to him it will be the best means.
He was quick to add on the show that, though it will help but the EC must make sure every eligible voter has the Card before agreeing on it solely.
