Police in Gulu are holding a ruthless father of a 16 -year -old girl for murdering his daughter’s boyfriend. This was after he nabbed the pair enjoying mature things in the middle of the night.
The suspect Cheyi Ben Angol, a 37-year-old peasant of Apem village, Omel sub county in Gulu district caught his teenage daughter red-handed having sexual intercourse with the deceased identified as Okema Daniel.

It is alleged that on February 24, 2023, Angol followed his daughter to Okema’s residence after discovering that she had sneaked out in the night to visit her boyfriend.
Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Spokesperson says Angol gathered five other colleagues including Rubangakone, Mugisha, Odongo Daniel, Komakech Daniel and Nasur Bwambale, to escort him to Okema’s place at about 4:00 am on that fateful day.
He explains that upon reaching Okema’s residence, Angol found the couple in the middle of a romping session and in a fit of rage pounced on and beat him to a pulp. The group then proceeded to fake a suicide by hanging Okema’s lifeless body on a rope in the room before fleeing the scene with the girl.
“They recovered their daughter and brutally tortured the 16year boy friend to death. And thereafter hanged his body to fake a suicide then locked the house from outside with a padlock.” says Enanga

Enanga says Angol has since been arrested, for murder while his accomplices remain on the run.
This is not the first time that such an incident is happening. In October 2022, a man in Kamuli killed his daughter’s boyfriend for standing with his daughter. The deceased identified as James Kakonso, a 16-year-old senior three student of Bugulumbya secondary school was found standing with Benon Ntalo’s daughter near a borehole in Bugobi village in Bugulumbya sub-county in Kamuli district.
Ntalo hacked the deceased on the head and strangled him.

In May 2022, a 54-year-old man battered his own daughter to death for spending a night at the boyfriend’s place.
Geoffrey Okot, a resident of Ocubu Latara village in Koch Parish, Labongo Amida sub-county killed the daughter while disciplining her. The deceased identified as Patricia Atim 15,was a primary six pupil of Akworo Primary school.
She was found in Lamola village a day later after purportedly spending a night at the boyfriend’s place.
