We’re abusing the power given to us by God- Bishop Owusu Agyemang laments
The founder and leader of Apostles Pentecostal Ministry International (APMI) and Ambassadors for Christ Council, in Techiman, in the Bono East Region, Bishop Dr. Stephen Owusu Agyemang, has disclosed that the power God has given to mankind to rule and overcome His creatures have been abused.

According to him, power is an integral aspect of all types of leadership God has given to humankind, but it has been misused and abused.
“All things in the world God created were given to mankind, but we are not using and controlling them as God gave to us in His purpose, hence the suffering in our societies”, he stated.
He quoted from Genesis 2:15-20 and Luke 10:19 on the power God has given to mankind and how such powers have been abused. He added that man was called to lead and serve, not to lord and abuse.
“We must first guard against our own lives succumbing to the misuse and abuse of power, we’re originally designed to wield power and authority over creation, we must love, care and be peaceful, but all these have been abused”, he added.

Speaking in an interview with Ashh news reporter Barbara Koranteng, the Bishop explained on the other hand of abuse of power that, abuse of power is an inappropriate and corruption use of power.
He continued that the exercise of power become an abuse when a person in a position of power acts in a manner that manipulates an area of control for personal gain at the follower’s expense and the while avoiding basic managerial responsibilities that cannot be justified in terms of truth or morality.
”While abuse of power have always been a part of Ghana’s leadership, the nature of corrupt acts cannot be learned, hence the underdevelopment in the country”, the Bishop bemoaned.
He outlined the abuse of power that; failing to do the right thing in the context of using power, failing in making something better for the citizenry, failing in attitudinal change of leadership, failing to serve the people on their demands, ect. He shortened that abuse of power is a sin.

He therefore urged the leaders in the country; Chiefs, presidents Pastors, Imams, stakeholders and people to use principles, responsibilities, authenticity and even more presence to the nation for its development.
