Silas Kwabena Agyekum declares interest to contest New Juaben South chairmanship race
One of the members of the NPP government communication team, Mr. Silas Kwabena Agyekum has declared his interest in the New Juaben South constituency Chairmanship position of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
In a radio interview with Afeema FM on Thursday, 3, 2022, the New Patriotic Party Regional Government Spokesperson and a senior communicator said, he had what it takes to mobilize supporters to vote for the NPP Party both the parliamentary and the presidential elections to push the agenda of staying in power after 2024.
He told the host of the morning show Nsempawura that, one of his reasons for lacing his boots for chairmanship race of New Juaben South is to bring back the energy, love and excitement that once held the party firmly together.
Kwabena Agyekum who is the current Constituency Treasurer, a position he has held for Two Terms and also the government appointee at the New Juaben South municipal Assembly stated that, breaking the Eight is not for jokes hence, the chairmanship position is meant for competent leadership not try and error.
Mr. Agyekum pointed out the urgent need to rejuvenate the grassroot which is the base of the party to serves as a foundation holding the party firmly to the ground to stand tall amongst other constituencies in the Eastern Region.
In his view, he has built himself in terms of institutional knowledge and experience through committees he serves at the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly, Regional and National Boards Committees and in the party with relentless sacrifice for decades.
According to Silas, the constituency Chairmanship position is only fit for people who are self dedicated, hard working, good communication skills and above all, someone who understands the cry of the grassroot supporters to lead the party to victory to ‘break the 8’ agenda.

He explained that the government and the grassroots must come together and build a formidable structure that would let the party sail through and win again.
The NPP communicator emphasised the need to touch base with the grassroots and foot-soldiers to help propagate the good works of the MP for New Juaben South Michael Okyere Baafi and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government and the ideals of the party.
