Initial report: Burning of refuse caused Akwatialine fire out break- GNFS PRO
The Ashanti Regional PRO and Safety Officer for Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), DOIII Peter Addai has revealed that, the initial cause of the fire outbreak at Akwatialine-Timber market asertained by the command was thrash burning.
He said, individual set fire into a refuse and refused to quench it completely but left the area.
He added that, this gradually spread, burning the nearby squatter houses.
He revealed that, the service will soon come out with comprehensive report about the incident including all the lost properties.
He disclosed this today on a Kumasi based Silver FM’s morning show chaired by Nana Ampratwum.
Part of Akwatialine-Timber market caught fire yesterday, February 3, 2022.
Some houses were affected with others burning down in the unfortunate incident.
