18-year old SHS girl and a mother of two calls for help as she loses daughter, school materials to inferno

Portia Amoah, a final year student of Kofi Adjei Senior High School has lost one of her two children to inferno in the Ashanti Region.
The fire that gutted the room of the Eighteen year old girl on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at about 1:30am, burnt down twenty one (21) bedrooms.
The fire outbreak also burnt to death a three (3) year old kindergarten pupil of Tikrom basic school, Patience Ohemaa Ampaw.
The disheartened SHS 2 mother of two narrating her ordeal to Filasco DeGeneral said, “all started around 1:30am at dawn on Tuesday. I was in the room with my grandmother and my two children. And all of a sudden, breathing became difficult for me so I woke up and to my surprise, smoke has engulfed the room”.
Adding that, she awaked her grandmother and both tried bringing the children out from the room but the 3-year old Ohemaa run for cover under their bed.
The fire got intense and they moved out from the room via a weak wooden ventilation with her 5-year old son leaving the 3-year old to her fate after several efforts to locate her during the fire proved futile.
The inferno was doused after the intervention of fire service at about 4:30am but the harm was already done.
Patience Ohemaa Ampaw was burnt beyond recognition whiles 21 bedrooms have also been burnt down completely.
The worried teenage mother, Portia Amoah disclosed that, she gave birth to her first child at the age of 13 and the deceased at the age of 15.
The incident happened at Tikrom in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Fire service is yet to establish the cause of the fire but the deceased child has been buried whiles investigation by the police and GNFS commence.
All belongings for the family especially the SHS student who lost her baby have been burnt, therefore, the assembly member of the Tikrom Electoral Area, Hon. Stella Oduro and the victims are passionately appealing to government and the general public to come to their aid as they have no place to sleep, no clothes to wear and no school materials for the SHS mother of the deceased.
