Nhyiaeso MP donates 20 beds to Suntreso Government Hospital
As part of the government social interventions, the member of parliament for Nhyiaeso constituency through Rebecca Foundation, 20 ultra-modern hospital beds and medical refrigerator were donated to the Suntreso Government Hospital on to contribute to the overall well-being of the people in the area through quality health care delivery. The amount of the items were not disclosed. Hon Steven Amoah popularly known as Stica who is the the member of parliament in the Nhyiaeso constituency who presented the beds to the Management of the Hospital at the premises in the Bantama constituency said it was to ease the burden of the facility in its quest to provide quality health care for the people.
The Suntreso Government Hospital, a 40-bed facility, which serves a large number of the citizenry from about three constituencies namely Nhyiaeso, Bantama and Kwadaso constituency lack a lot of challenges including beds.
Speaking to the media, Hon Steven Amoah stated that his primary focus is to put people first by improving their well-being, which is underscored by the Sustainable Development Goals (3) on ensuring good health and well-being of the populace.
On his part, Dr Agyarko Poku, Medical Superintendent of Suntreso Government Hospital, who received the equipment, indicated that the provision of the medical equipment, especially the bed would help improve the management of the COVID 19 cases at the facility. He said prior to the donation, the hospital had to refer most of COVID cases to either Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Teaching for management due to lack of this equipment. He expressed gratitude to the M.P for the support assuring that the equipment would be used for the intended purpose to improve the health status of the citizenry.
