Government has began massive road construction works in Ahafo Ano South West District, located in the western part of Ashanti Region.
It is part of the government’s promise to give Ashanti Region massive road construction works.
The Government promised a total of 500 kilometres of new road projects in the Ashanti region in line with its ‘Year of Roads’ initiative declared by President Akufo-Addo in 2019.
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Akwasi Amoako Atta who gave the assurance, noted that already, 460 kilometres of the new road projects under construction in the region are scheduled for completion and handing over by September this year.
Mr. Amoako Atta made this known in Kumasi at a media encounter as part of his three-day working tour of the Ashanti region.
However, a tour in Ahafo Ano South West District by a journalist with Kumasi based SilverFM Kwabena Wireko popular known as KW or the Unofficial Lawyer unearthed a 15 kilometer road construction works ongoing in the Ahafo Ano South West District.
The project was lobbied by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency, Hon. Johnson Kwaku Adu.
The beneficial communities include Sikafremogya, Afreseni, Bonkwaso, and other towns.
Speaking to Filasconews.com in a development, the residents in the district have expressed great appreciation and gratitude to the MP and his subordinates.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Johnson Kwaku Adu in his recent and previous speeches asked the people to remain calm as they would witness massive great road construction works and development in the area under his tenure as MP.
He called on the people to keep supporting him and the government as well to deliver their best to them.
“These are not the only road construction works we are carrying out. All the remaining communities are going to witness road construction works in their towns soon”, the MP has said.
