Two teachers on the run for allegedly obtaining loans with forged payslips

TWO teachers, one from Luanshya and the other from Ndola are on the run after obtaining loans using forged payslips and introductory letters.

Mary Bashala 40, and Bwalya Kalembeleka 41 of Kabushi Primary School in Ndola and Mwaiseni Primary School in Luanshya respectively are on the police wanted list.

This was after the matter was reported to police by John Kunda on behalf of the National Savings and Credit Bank (Natsave).

Copperbelt police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba has said they have launched a manhunt for the two tutors who fraudulently obtained loans from the Natsave between January and March this year.

“Mr Kunda reported that Mary Bashala and Bwalya Kalembeleka went to the institution and obtained loans for themselves using forged payslips and introductory letters. This occurred when the complainant discovered that the institution could not recover the supposed monthly deductions from the two clients,” he said.

An inquiry revealed that the pair was below the 40 percent threshold which is a government requirement.
