GNAT payment of Death or Retirement benefits
In a letter dated 14th April, 2023 with Reference Number 0790/VOL.II/08/23, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has announced the payment of death or retirement benefits for the period 13th December, 2022 to 4th April, 2023.
The payment, based on the new national council approved figure of Three Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH 3,000.00) effective January, 2023, has been paid in full to all ten (10) GNAT regional secretariats on Friday, 14th April, 2023.
In light of this development, GNAT has advised all regional secretariats to ensure that cheques for individual retired beneficiaries are sent to the district secretaries by close of work on Friday, 21st April, 2023.
District secretaries are in turn expected to ensure that all retired beneficiaries in their respective districts are paid their death or retirement benefits for the stated period in full by close of work on Friday, 28th April, 2023.
Also, the payment of death or retirement benefits is a crucial aspect of the welfare package of GNAT. It is aimed at providing financial support to members who have retired or who have passed on while in active service. As such, GNAT is committed to ensuring that the benefits are paid in a timely and efficient manner.
