All Nations University Celebrates Founders’ Day In A Grand Style

All Nations University Celebrates Founders’ Day on Sunday, 13, as part of its 20th anniversary with a colourful performance at its main Campus in Koforidua of the Eastern region.

The event on Sunday celebrated Rev. Dr Samuel H. Donkor and Dr Mrs. Rose Donkor as the University’s Founders.

Students and lecturers confer a citation of honour and a citation of appreciation to Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Donkor, founder of All Nations University.

The excited couples in a tender manner also cut the customized 20th anniversary cake to climax the celebration of the Founders’ day.

The event was attended by both staff and students, MP for New Juaben South and deputy minister for Trade and Industries, Michael Okyere Baafi, New Juaben South MCE, also saw some members of the Alumni Association present to express their delight and appreciation to management of the University for What the University has made of them.

Addressing the gathering at the celebration, the Chairman of the school governing Board Prof. Aaron Nii Lante Lawson indicates that considering an idea to establish All Nations University and bringing it into reality is very laudable.

Speaking on this year’s theme “Celebrating 20 Years of Quality and Innovative Higher Education in Ghana” according to the university was strategic because the current global education is driven by positive innovations.

Prof. Lawson commended the founders of the university for their efforts of establishing the tertiary institution to provide excellent and quality education for all.

He said the school after its establishment has chalked a lot of achievements including the establishment of a new campus, launching a satellite in orbit and the university being accredited as a charter with introduction of unique and quality new programmes to benefits students both Ghana and abroad.

On behalf of the governing Board, Prof. Aaron Nii Lante Lawson promised to achieve more success for the school in the next coming years.

Speaking in his keynote Address, Prof. Simon Degbe also commended Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Donkor and Dr Mrs Rose Donkor for their respect for humanity despite all their gains and many accolades.

However, to see the next future success of the school, Prof. Simon Degbe charged the students, teachers and the governing Board to emulate the qualities of the founders to run the University including commitment to continuously improve on practical learning facilities at All Nations University to continue to make its graduates competitive.

Expansion of the existence facilities at the university according to Prof. Degbe must be a priority of the Alumni and the governing board.

The Founder of the school, Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Donkor in a sideline interview with Afeema FM’s journalist Kaakyire Kwasi Afari, he mentioned that his school (All Nations University) is poised to improve medicine, technology and food processing Engineering to supply proceeds for the country.

According to Rev. Dr Donkor, food preservation is key in minimizing economic hardship and cutting down cost of living because it will ensure availability of food in challenging times

“We want to bring down the cost of living with respect to our food, and the only way is for us to produce and preserve it so that it can be distributed to people throughout the year,” he told Kaakyire Kwasi Afari.

To this end, he said, the University is embarking on 150 acres of plantain and Cocoanuts plantation to ensure food safety in Koforidua and Ghana at large.

Rev Dr Samuel Donkor reveals that “this year, African Union recognize All Nations University as one of the most innovative Universities on the continent, courtesy the dedication of the faculty’s, students and the governing board of the university” he mentioned.

As part of this year’s colourful acknowledgement, other beautiful event schedules were a career day, Presidential debate with other tertiary institutions, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workshop, games day and Alumni dinner with Mr. and Mrs Donkor, graduation ceremony and thanksgiving service and Tehilla Concert.
