Accra: Promising young soldier slumps and dies ‘mysteriously’
A young Navy Junior Officer Abass has slumped and died at the Accra Kawukudi park where he was playing football with his colleagues.
The young soldier hailed from Mamobi and was already serving as a Physical Training Instructor of the Ghana Navy before his untimely death and was said to be “full of life and ambitions”, according to friends and loved ones.
Abass popularly known as “Morale” was also at his final year studying at 37 Nursing and Midwifery Training College to become a military nurse and certified trainer.
Eyewitnesses say Abass “woke up this morning sound and fit. He went to Kaokudi park to play football with his guys. He fell down in the pitch and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors announced him dead”.
Wagina De Captain, a playing mate of the young Navy officer gave details of how the soldier fell on the pitch and lost breath at once.
“Hmmmmm Brothers And Sisters Please Whatever It Is Let Try And To Forgive Each Other Because What Happen This Morning At our Training Ground Is Really Scary ,Abaas Denden Die In Ur Hands And We Do Everything To Save His Life But We Couldn’t…Rest Well Abass” he wrote.
Other report added:
“Our Late Brother Abass Known As (Moral) Was Playing Football And Running Up And Down With Friends This Morning And He Felt Down On The Pitch, He Was Then Attend First By Our Main Referee Known As (Sammy). So He Was Monitored On The Ground For A Short While Before Rushing Him To The 37 Millitary Hospital. Waiting For 5 to 10 mins Outside And The Doctors Who Are His Colleagues Soldiers Said ABASS (MORAL) Is No More. May Allah Be Pleased With Ur Soul My Brother In Allah And Tariqatul Tijanniya Till We Meet Again”
