Gold dealer shot dead in Ashanti Region
A 41 year old woman(gold dealer) has been shot dead by unknown gunman at Ahanso-Nyewodea in the Obuasi West District of the Ashanti Region.
The woman identified as Sister Afia (41) was into illegal mining activities. She buys lands and employs experts Galamseyers to work on it for her to extract gold from the land.
On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the woman was shot dead at her residence in Obuasi by yet to be identified gunman.
The gunman also broke into her room and stole her gold and physical cash.
One person(her driver only identified as Nana) has been arrested by the Obuasi Tutuka police in connection with the murder.
Her body has been deposited at Mangoase Government hospital in Obuasi for autopsy and preservation while the police continue investigation.
