DISHEARTENING: 10 Students of Agogo State SHS in critical condition after being Flogged by their teachers

At least Ten(10) of Agogo State Senior High School (SHS) in the Asante Akim North District of the Ashanti Region have been mercilessly flogged by their teachers .

The students according to the reports were been given the inhumane beatings from their teachers for fetching water outside the school campus.

The ten(10) students beaten are in a critical condition and receiving treatment.

Explaining their ordeal to the media, the students said they went to fetch water from the nearby community to the school following water shortage in the school.

According to the students, on their way coming back to the school with the water, Six(6) teachers of the school called them and directed them to the school’s staff common room.

It was there they flogged them like “animals”.

Parents of these students are upset over the development and are asking the school authorities and Ghana Education Service (GES) as the mother body of our Education System to take the matter up.

Meanwhile, the students have revealed to Abusua FM reporter, King, that, the teachers in the school normally maltreat them over any little incident and want an end to it this time.

However, Ghana Education Service (GES) banned canning and any other form of corporal punishment in primary and secondary schools in Ghana in 2019.
