Benedicta Owusu-Buabeng tragically died on December 17.

A mum-of-three was tragically killed in a car crash just before Christmas after dropping her husband off at work.

Benedicta Owusu-Buabeng, 38, was driving back home when she passed away following a head-on collision in Bracknell, Berkshire, on December 17.

The woman, described as “caring”, “passionate” and “conscientious”, was a stay-at-home mum to her nine-month-old baby, three-year-old toddler and seven-year-old child.

She was one of the leaders of the children’s department at her church.

Benedicta’s husband is now looking after their children while continuing to work to support them.

Family friend Emmanuel Quesie said: “Now that she’s gone, he has to look after the children and work as well.

The tragic crash happened in Berkshire.

“It’s going to be very, very difficult. Me and my wife we have three children together and we take turns doing that, that’s already hard so we can’t imagine what he’s going to go through. He’s going to need a lot of support.”

Benedicta’s friends Mabel Amakye, Priscilla Quesie and Paulina Dwomoh created a GoFundMe page to help the family financially, Berkshire Live reports.

The friends said the widower will now have to readjust his life and “take up the role of both mother and father”.

They said: “This money will allow the children to be cared for in the next few months as their father readjusts his life to take up the role of both mother and father.

“It will provide child care and resources the children need in the next few months. It cannot replace their mother but will provide much-needed support until their Dad is able to take up the role of their mother as well.”

Benedicta Owusu-Buabeng’s life was tragically lost

The trio went on to describe Benedicta’s “kind” personality, adding: “Benedicta was a kind person who continuously thought of how best she could improve the lives of others around her. In her own small way, she was always willing to use anything she had to help others.

“She was a very caring and conscientious mother who was passionate about the holistic development of her children.

“We became friends with Benedicta about five to six years ago when she joined our church in Bracknell. Our friendship developed naturally and quickly because we shared similar principles.

“Her faith was a fundamental part of her life. Our friendship became stronger over the years as we spent time together organising play dates for our children and meeting regularly to pray for each other.

“All three of us were like sisters. Benedicta spoke to one of us almost every day. She was a very important part of our lives.

“Benedicta was one of the leaders of the children’s department at our local church. She spent a significant amount of her time organising lessons and resources which would help the spiritual growth of the children. Her last message to Priscilla on 17 Dec 2022 at 9.30pm was a message about resources she was preparing for the children at church for the coming year.

“We have set up a Go Fund Me page to raise funds to support Benedicta’s children in this crucial time when their mum can’t be around to help take care of them. All three children are very young and we envisage the months ahead will be challenging in terms of their care.”
