Nurses in New Juaben South to receive awards from their MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben South Constituency Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi has announce Nurses Award Scheme to motivate Nurses in his constituency.

The MP’s Nurses Appreciation Award’s Scheme is set up to motivate health workers to continue with their tireless and selfless dedication in the provision of quality health care despite the daunting challenges they encounter every day.

Speaking to Kaakyire Kwasi Afari of Afeema FM, the MP indicates that the Award’s Scheme is motivated by the outstanding sacrifices Nurses in his constituency have to make each day, stressing.

The Award’s event slated for the second week of January, 2023, will have Nurses competitively selected throughout the constituency for the awards.

Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi who doubles as deputy trade minister made the announcement when he has feted women and children on admission at the Koforidua Central Hospital on Wednesday, 28th December, 2022.

The MP’s dinner focused on the welfare of women and children, interacted with the patients as they shared food and drinks.

As revealed by the MP, the potential recipients of the awards will be judged by the regional health directorate, the scheme provides an opportunity for all the health facility Administrators to keep their MP fully engaged with the work that they do and innovations that the nurses make through, many of whom perform above and beyond the call of duty.

The “Nurses Appreciation Award Scheme” will be the first of its kind instituted in the Eastern region.

The Ghanaian lawmaker asked Dr. Akoto Ampaw, the medical director for Koforidua Central Hospital to facilitate all the necessary arrangements so that he (Baafi) can pay gh¢15,000 being the cost of medical bills for all the Children admitted at the hospital so that they can be discharged from the facility.

Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi however commended the hospital workers led by Dr. Akoto Ampaw for their service to the constituency and Ghana at large whiles entreating them not to relent on their duties of servicing their clients.

Dr. Akoto Ampaw, the medical director at Koforidua Central Hospital for his part, thanked the MP for the kind gesture.

He told Kaakyire Kwasi Afari that, “on behalf of management and workers I want to thank our MP for remembering our children and women in this difficult time and to dine and celebrate Christmas with our patients.

Mr. Akoto Ampaw reveals that partying with the children will attract positive psychological effects on their health conditions through quick recovery.

Meanwhile, the medical director called on other philanthropists, organizations to adopt or visit the hospital regularly with gestures, stressing that the patients had unattended needs.
