Ghanaian youth and drivers have been urged to desist from acts that could ruin the purpose and success of the upcoming Christmas.

According to Very Reverend Jubilant Boakye Danquah, a senior citizen and former minister of the Methodist Church and Former Chaplain of the U.S Military Hospital, it doesn’t make sense for people to misbehave during Christmas as though it was time to ignore wisdom.

To drivers, the Reverend Minister said, Christmas time was not meant to do reckless driving to risk lives of innocent passengers and pedestrians.

According to him, drivers who rush and drive recklessly within this festive season with the aim of making much money do not make any sense, and that it was time they desist from such acts.

Very Reverend J.B Danquah who expressed worry over the rate at which most people jump from one drinking spot to the other said Christmas was not meant for drinking competition.

“Christmas is meant to remember the birth of Christ and to make merry by uniting ourselves and usher people to repentance. Christmas does not call for incessant drinking, smoking and unnecessary behaviour.

It is always disheartening to see people siphoning alcohol during Christmas as though it was time to compete in alcoholic drinking”. He said.

The statesman has however entreated all people, being Christians and none Christians, to put up behaviours that befits the life of Jesus Christ we are celebrating.
