RE-PRESS RELEASE ON THE VISIT OF THE DEFENSE MINISTER TO BORAE AHENFIE AND DAMBAI – AN ATTEMPT TO MISINFORM, DIVERT ATTENTION AND PREJUDICE INVESTIGATIONS

The attention of the Chonke State has been drawn to a release by some members dated 7th December 2022 with the above caption, which sort to question the existence of the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association. For the avoidance of doubt, the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association has been in existence for so time now.

However, during the commemoration of the annual Chonke Yam festival held at Borae no.2 on the 13th November 2021, the group decided to restructure and appoint the current executives to steer its affairs in the interim.

The Executives are; Mr Boame Kumah, President (Sosoror Clan), Ms Kate Nsemenese (Vice President, Monkore Clan), Napoleon Brukum (Secretary, Agyimbra Clan), Mr Agyagne Kwaku (Deputy Secretary, Sosoror Clan), Mr. Bameasen Daniel (Organiser, Sosoror Clan), Mr. Ntiawah Christopher (Deputy Organizer, Kachinke Clan), and Mr. Adams Gyingo (Treasurer, Wankan Clan) duly sworn-in for a stated period.

It is instructive to state that, the event that led to the appointment and swearing-in of the executives of the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association was graced by some notable personalities of Chonke descent.

Present on the day were; Late Hon. Francis Kofi Okesu (Former MCE, Krachi-East Municipality), Hon. Ogyile K. Nkrumah (DCE, Krachi-Nchumuru District), Hon. Peter Awuranyi (Former DCE, Krachi-East District), and a host of other dignitaries. As part of the group’s activities to deepen its relationship with all stakeholders, the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association paid courtesy calls on some chiefs, public officers and opinions leaders within the Chonke State.

Of special mention is their courtesy call on Nana Kwaku Beyennor (Dambai Owure and Nifahene of Chonke-Nchumuru) at his residence at Dambai on 16th November 2021 in the presence of the Asafoakye of Dambai, Bameasen Emmanuel and his elders.

The existence of Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association is never in doubt, as some people would want us to believe. As at today, 9th December, 2022, Hon. Ogyile K. Nkrumah (DCE, Krachi-Nchumuru) is still one of the administrators of the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association whatsapp platform.

Following from the above, the Chonke State is stating without any equivocation that, the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association is known, sanctioned, and cloth with some responsibilities to the State. We are hereby calling on well-meaning Ghanaians to disregard the mischief of some individuals to discredit or/and prevent the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association from fulfilling their mandate.

We are solidly behind the Chonke–Nchumuru Youth Association.
