We have really suffered this year under the current Government  – PROTOA fumes

The Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) of Ghana has stated that their members have really suffered under the current Government.

The members of PROTOA say the current Government made things very difficult for them throughout the year under review.

The Chairman of PROTOA in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Joseph Mensah made this known to the media in Kumasi on Wednesday December 7, 2022, at their end of year meeting at Cultural Center in Kumasi.

Mr. Joseph Mensah told the press that the current Government failed to reduce fuel to the minimum level throughout the year, thus, making the work of drivers very difficult and unprofitable.

He also revealed that, spare parts have been expensive in the whole year, putting pressure on drivers and draining their sales after work because of the poor road networks in the country.

He added that drivers would have to spend their daily earnings on maintenance due to the poor roads they ply on.

He therefore appealed to the Government to make life bearable for drivers in the coming year, God willing.

The PROTOA Chairman took advantage of the occasion to advising drivers to be more vigilant on the roads as Christmas approaches to avoid unnecessary accidents.

Some members of the Association also expressed disappointment in the government about the way petroleum products were being handled this year and urged the government to do better for the drivers come 2023.

They thanked the Almighty God for his protection and guidance and pledged to prevent road carnages and protect passengers and pedestrians lives especially as the year reaches its end.
