A 25 year old farmer, Francis Kwame Awuah and his twenty-one year old girlfriend, Akosua Lydia have allegedly been murdered by unknown assaillants at Brosankro/Aprakukrom, a farming community near Abronye in the Sunyani West Municipality of the Bono Region.

Awuah was found in a pool of blood in his room with cuts on the head while Akosua on a cashew farm close to Awuah’s house.

The incident is believed to have happened at midnight on Saturday, November 26, 2022, after everybody in the have community have gone to sleep.

Confirming the sad incident to Sunyani fm, Assembly Member for Abronye Electoral Area, Hon Dognekoh Atta Kwasi Snr. revealed that on Sunday, around 8:30am he had a called that someone is allegedly murdered at a cashew farm so he directed the unit committee members to report the case to the police and he personally called the police commander and inform him and after some few minutes he had another call that another person is also murdered and this time a man in his room close to the cashew farm.

According to him, when he had the second call he called the police commander again to brief him so he quickly organized himself and joined the police to the scene and upon reaching the scene they realized the reports were true.

“I was at a funeral over the weekends at Atronie, I was there yesterday to do the accounts around 8:30 there about in the morning I had a call where it was alleged that someone has been butchered, then time they couldn’t disclosed whether male or female because the deceased was lying with face down on a cashew farm.

The cashew farmer brought labourers to the farm and discover the body, so he reported to the unit committee members and the committee members called to inform me.”

“So what I have to do then was to direct them to come to town police station and report officially, after giving them that directive I quickly get in attach with the municipal police commander and brief him so he asked me to let them come they are around and after the complain they will go with them.

So I think in the next few minutes time another call came through again that they have found another person being butchered, in this case a male in his room in fact the scene is very horrific very terrible so I briefed commander again and he asked me to move down they are organizing themselves to get to the place to ascertain things themselves the facts in it.”

Quickly, I rushed so when I got there they were ready to move and I joined their team and we all went to the crime scene together, he said.

“When we got there it was confirmed that a man has been murdered in his room. When you look at the cuts I don’t think is cutlass it could be an axe or something like that they used on the man’s head in fact it’s very terrible.

The lady too the same thing but when you look at where the lady is lying, someone’s cashew farm close to the guy’s house, no one can tell whether the lady was running for her life and they apprehended her later and killed her.”

Mr Dognekoh, revealed that the police has taken over the case and have deposited the bodies at Bono Regional Hospital mortuary in Sunyani for preservation and investigations are ongoing to find who these assailants are and the reasons behind their acts.
