Assin Fosu: Farmer who allegedly murdered his friend remanded

A 23-year-old man known as Kwame Gabriel has dishonestly stolen his stepfather’s 9,500 Cedis and iPhone in Assin Fosu, as he leaves a letter to confirm the reasons for taking such an action.

The victim, Mr. Kwakye Joseph, a private security personnel in Assin Fosu speaking in an interview with Angel Fm Reporter Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack, narrated that he was given GHC 10,000 by a friend to keep such an amount.

However, he shares the same room with his brother’s son known as Kwame Gabriel. The money was kept on the blind side of the boy but on Thursday Mr. Kwakye found out that the money he kept had been reduced by 9,500 Ghana cedis.

He was able to identify the perpetrator because the boy left a letter behind the 500 Cedis inside the bag, attesting to the fact that he is responsible for that action.

This is the letter he wrote in the Ghanaian Language (Twi).

Translation in English Language:

“Hi daddy, so all this while you have been keeping such huge money in this room whiles we suffer in poverty. I sincerely plead for forgiveness for the reason that I have taken your money. I know it’s painful but bear with me. I am pleading with you to keep calm because I shall one day present to you more than the money I have taken. I pray to God to grant you long life for I shall turn your sorrows into joy. The most painful of it all is about how you have refused to give me one cedi all this one to purchase water”.

Meanwhile, the 9500 that was taken by Kwame Gabriel according to Mr. Kwakye is going to be used on a connection or a deal that will take him to Dubai, and all effort to reach this boy has proved futile.

Ever since the incident happened Mr. Kwakye, the victim has reported the issue to the Assin Fosu District Police and hopes to get Kwame Gabriel arrested to be able to give back to his own.

Meanwhile, the victim has threatened to commit suicide since he cannot any longer bear the pressure of being given by the owner.
