He added that, the absence of toilet facilities leaves the students with no other options than to defecate in the bushes.
For her part, the Queen Mother of Wassa Amenfi Akwamuhene, Nana Ntiwaa (iii) expressed concern about the growing popularity of television soap operas with school children and the amount of time they spend watching these channels.
She said, this should give everybody, who genuinely wanted to see improvement in academic performance cause to worry.
Instead of the children spending time on their books, she bemoaned that many of them in the community and Ghana at large, are often seen glued to the TV which is seriously affecting academic performance nationwide.
The Queen Mother again expressed concern that, pupils keep leaving their schools to join others that are benefiting from the Ghana School Feeding Programme just to have free meals.
Therefore, she has passionately appealed to the Government to consider adding them to the Ghana School Feeding beneficiary schools.
The Queen Mother speaking exclusively to Nana Kwame Buah, she called on the MCE for Wassa Amenfi East and the Government to construct computer laboratories in their schools to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
She said the lack of computer laboratories in the schools hindered the effective teaching of ICT as a subject and made the subject very difficult for pupils to develop and sustain their interest in it.
