E/R: Fish out the bad people in Birim North – Association of Chiefs on insecurity

The Birim North Association of Chiefs in the Birim North District in the Eastern region, marked their 40 days Traditional council meeting to elaborate and discuss the welfare of the community.

This meeting was possible with the presence of media personals, Abirem north chief Obrempong Kwesi Amoh kyeretwie I , his sub- chiefs and elders in the communities.

In an exclusive interview with chief of Abirem Obrempong Kwesi Amoh kyeretwie I, who also doubles as the president of Abirem Traditional council, expressed his grievances to the press that it is very disheartening to notice that the security measures in his locality is limited and this has consistently slows the development in the community based on criminal act done by his own citizens and this has put fear and panick to the people of Abirem.

He also said, last year criminal act was in a higher rate but with the help of Ghana police service enforcement such cases like robbery was reduce in the locality of Abirem.

Obrempong Kwesi Amoh kyeretwie I continue to laments that he taught all criminal act were over but this year’s recent happenings of crimes are becoming more serious because within the month of April 23rd 2022, a mad woman was brutally killed and in the month of May 23rd 2022 another mad woman was brutally assorted and rape but alive and lastly the same incident has occurred on this month 23rd of August,2022 and till date no culprit is found interms of police investigations.

He further said these has brought total worry and uncomfort to him as a chief and the entire people of Abirem traditional area, so with these recent crime happenings they have come to a final agreement to use Newmont foundation fund to build (24) twenty four police barracks to support ghana police officers in his locality to enable police officers to work effectively and tiredlessly to bring all this culprit to the front of law to enable his people to gain justice and affected victims.

He also realease an amount of hundred million cedis as an award to any individuals who will be able to help the police to get hold of this known culprit.

He finally urge the president of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo and Police IGP , Dr. Akuffo Dampare to deploy more police officers to Abirem north district and also support them with beds to help every officer to do their best in their job delivery to reduce crime rate in the district.
