Government approves Free Health Care for the elderly policy

The Government of the republic of Ghana has approved Free Health Care for the elderly policy.

The policy will see to it that, elderly persons at the age of 70 and above receive free health care under the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS).

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo on Friday December 9, 2022 approved the NHIS Free Elderly Care Policy.

This Policy guarantees a waiver of the mandatory 30 days waiting period and an exemption from the premium and processing fees payment for all Ghanaians aged 70 years and above.

Board chairman Dr. Ernest K.P Kwarko led a delegation from the Authority to the Jubilee House.

Chief Executive Dr. Okoe Boye, Deputy Chief Executives and some Directors were all present during the meeting with President Akufo-Addo.
