Akufo-Addo finally sacks Adwoa Safo
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has finally revoked the appointment of Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Sarah Adwoa Safo.
This comes months after the Minister neglected her post and relocated to the United States of America to cater for her children.
Although the President had given her the opportunity to return to her post amidst criticism and insults, Adwoa Safo who is also a Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya refused to return to her post.
In a statement Thursday, July 28, 2022, the President indicated that he had revoked her appointment adding that Sanitation and Water Resources Minister Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah will continue to handle the position until a substantive Minister is appointed.
Adwoa Safo a week ago thanked the President of Ghana for standing by her all these months when some members of her own political party worked at ensuring that she is removed from office.
Meanwhile, the Majority in Parliament has called on the leadership of Parliament to declare her seat vacant.
This was after she refused to attend summons by the Privileges Committee when she was invited to respond to questions about her absence from Parliament.
