SC adjourns Gyakye Quayson’s case indefinitely

The Apex court has, on Tuesday July 12, indefinitely adjourned the case involving embattled Member of Parliament for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson.

The ruling, according to the court, is to allow the defendant to file written submissions to strike out the inherent decision of the highest court of the land.

Private citizen, Michael Ankomah Nimfah had applied to the Supreme Court for the interpretation of Article 942)(a) of the 1992 Constitution following

“The petitioner is arguing that Mr Gyakye Quayson, at the time of filing his nomination to contest the Assin North parliamentary seat, was holding dual citizenship, contrary to the dictates of the 1992 Constitution.
