Bawku Naaba speaks after one person was killed in attack yesterday
Bawku Naaba Asigir Abugrago Azoaka(ii) has spoken after one person was killed in an attack on July 7, 2022.
The deceased was amongst traders returning from their daily activities and were attacked by some gun wielding men.
The traders were returning from Cenkase, a subtown in Togo when the incident happened.
The gun men attacked them at a town called Aramongsaan, a community in Pusiga District.
This and many other crimes recently in the area have pushed Bawku Naaba to address the public.
Naaba Asigir Abugrago said he stands for peace and described the recent happenings in Bawku as purely crime and not chieftaincy dispute.
There have been chaos in Bawku recently leading to the death of some residents including a driver who was burnt to death in his taxi cab by some gang in the area.
People attributed the cause of the brawls in the area to chieftaincy dispute.
But, in his address statement yesterday, the Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, Bawku Naaba Asigir Azoaka Abugrago(ii) disclosed that, the Chieftaincy issues in Bawku have been solved long ago, hence the recent clash cannot be attributed to it.
He said the chieftaincy issues were settled by the supreme Court of the land.
He therefore called on all to remain calm in order to bring peace to Bawku.
