World Crisis: Ghana should refine her own Crude Oil- Economist

Mr. Afful Manu Benjamin, Economist has stated that, the country should refine its own crude oil to avert current world Crisis on petroleum products.
The Proprietor for Star of Africa Montessori Academy and a businessman accounted on a Kumasi based Silver FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show hosted by Nana Kwabena Ampratwum, monitored by Filasconews.com today, Monday, June 27, 2022 that, petroleum products will be cheaper if the country refines its own crude oil.
Mr. Afful with an evoke on the government to provide a refinery to operate crude oil in the country will abate the inflation on fuel prices in Ghana.
He said, currently, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has the arrangement to do third party refining which he noted does not allow the refinery to derive 100 percent profit from its activities.
He added that when TOR is able to refine its own crude oil at its full capacity, it will provide Ghanaians with cheaper petroleum product prices and urged the government on the refinery not to be downhearted because of the challenges that may occur but rather continue to work hand-in-hand with adept persons in the country.
He appealed to the government to fundamentally abate the personal interests and greediness at the TOR.
